Brothers and sisters, I’m sure most of you are aware of the horrific sexual abuse scandal that has haunted our Church. We all grieve the wicked ways that priests have abused children, seminarians, and other vulnerable people. I know many of us feel understandably demoralized and defeated. What should we do as a parish? What can you do? Bishop Robert Barron has written a short book, Letter to a Suffering Church: A Bishop Speaks on the Sexual Abuse Crisis. He is a bishop in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and he’s the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries. Bishop Barron provides clear biblical and historical insight on the scandal. He exhorts us to cling to Christ and fight on behalf of the victims.

We are giving this book away to every family in the parish. Read it slowly and prayerfully. Pass it on to a struggling friend or family member.
