Alternate day rosuvastatin, an underutilized option in statin intoleranti was tested for everything including mri and using novocaine and other pain killers. Because both my parents suffered from heart problems, my family physician put me on Crestor (10 mg/day) in mid-April. pravastatin, however, does not appear to be as effective as other statins when used in an alternate-day schedule, nor was it as effective for ldl lowering in statin-experienced patients as decreasing the daily dose by half and maintaining the daily schedule. i'll ask for another blood test next january to see how i'm doing, but i am really skeptical.
