General Information Regarding Sacraments

First Reconciliation / First Eucharist
The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are traditionally celebrated about the age of seven (around second grade). Older students who have not yet received the sacraments are also prepared with their peers in age appropriate settings. Along with regularly scheduled Faith Formation classes; there are additional sacramental preparation sessions for students and parents as well as two student retreats. The sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in January and First Communion in April/May. For more information, please contact our Faith Formation Staff at the Parish Office. - Confirmation
The church firmly states that confirmation is a celebration of “Christian mystery” in which those being confirmed receive the “full outpouring of the Holy Spirit as once granted to the apostles on the day of Pentecost”(CCC1302). Students who are participating in Faith Formation are prepared for the sacrament of Confirmation during their 8th grade year. Older students who have not yet received the sacrament are also prepared with their peers. In addition to the regularly scheduled Faith Formation classes; there are additional sacramental preparation sessions for students and parents as well as a student retreat and group service projects.. For more detailed information about Confirmation, please see the following: Confirmation FAQ or contact our Faith Formation Staff.
